September marks the unveiling of a superb restoration effort by Mid-Continent Railway Museum. Copper Range coach #60, acquired by Mid-Continent in 1982 has finally been completed and will be open for tours on September 20th. The top photo is a photo of Copper Range #29 pulling combine #26 and coach #60 out of McKeever on 8/16/46 during the last month of passenger service on the Copper Range. The bottom photo is what it looked like to be riding in that coach during 1946, actually this is a photo of part of the restoration crew at Mid-Continent posing with their masterpiece.
By the arrangement of the yard tracks and the dirt road beyond (an parallel to) the tracks, I think the train is coming into McKeever, not departing. I think the train is heading basically south in the photo. Either way, though, its an excellent period shot!
